crabbed by a lizard @ chek jawa 23July2011

This malayan water monitor was making its way around the mud lobster mounds fringing the mangrove boardwalk. The mud lobster mounds being akin to condominiums housing many different animals also shelters climbing crabs. One particular crab was a tad slow in getting out of the way of the approaching lizard and got caught by the lizard. Looking around to make sure he was not going to be disturbed, the lizard finally chomped down and swallowed the crab whole.
